A Day at Agape Ranch

Visitors will arrive on a Tuesday and leave on a Tuesday. The first day will be spent settling in and will include an orientation to the Ranch, its staff, animals, and the Awakening Program. We've planned all activities, seminars, and meals as a group. We do this to remind our guests that they are not in this world alone and that healing can come from helping and loving others.

Ranch patients and their families will start the day by participating in an exercise program designed for their specific capabilities. Visitors will then have an opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities, again according their capability. Following lunch will be an educational seminar that all patients and family members are required to attend. Subjects will include information about cancer, what causes it, and how you can help yourself through exercise, diet, and faith.

Even though much of each day is planned, we've also allowed for personal time. This is a great chance to explore, rest, or get involved with the animals on the Ranch. For example, patients can get a horse (or another animal) assigned to them for the week and have the opportunity to bond with that animal and participate in its care.

Dinners will be held at our outside pavilion, in full view of the sunset and picturesque Maui and will include a Luau night. We will then wrap up each day in front of the campfire with inspirational songs, messages of hope, and prayer time. The rest of the evening is free, but we must recommend stargazing from a hammock nestled between two palm trees. Stargazing on the Big Island of Hawaii is like no place on earth.

Departure day starts like every other with a morning workout and breakfast. A quick meeting about Agape's continuing education process will follow and study materials (such as exercise routines and nutrition information) will be distributed. Each person will also leave with a success journal along with a schedule for follow-up conference calls.
